Beijing/Wellington: As the Year of the Fire Horse approaches, a strange paradox is emerging in the Chinese corporate world. While some companies are touting the horse’s gait as a mantra for energy and success, young employees are expressing their pain by referring to themselves as bulls and horses.

Dr. Christian Yao, a senior lecturer in the School of Management at Victoria University of Wellington, told the BBC that by 2026, Chinese offices will be flooded with horse-related proverbs in email subject lines, presentations, and speeches.
